Mockingbird vs Meta Advantage+ creative
Meta Advantage+ creative and Mockingbird work at different stages. Advantage+ creative is a set of generative AI features inside Ads Manager that vary an ad you have already uploaded, with new backgrounds, expanded images, text variations and animation. Mockingbird makes the ad you upload in the first place, a static image remade from a winning Meta ad with your real product photos, colours and brand voice.
Use Meta's tools if you already have creative you like and want variations without another subscription. Use Mockingbird when you need new concepts to test, each based on an ad that is already winning. You can use both. Upload a Mockingbird ad, then choose which enhancements to allow.
What is Meta Advantage+ creative?
Advantage+ creative is Meta's set of AI creative features in Ads Manager. When you add an image or video, you can turn on enhancements such as text generation, image expansion to fit more placements, background generation for product images, image animation, image touch-up, video expansion and image generation.
The features are part of Ads Manager, with no separate subscription. Some enhancements may be on by default, and you can turn them off. Most of them work from the assets and text you provide, so the concept and layout still come from you.

Using Mockingbird with Advantage+ creative
Make the concept in Mockingbird, download it at full size and upload it in Ads Manager like any other image. Then decide which Advantage+ creative enhancements to allow. If you want the exact ad Mockingbird made to run, check the enhancement settings before you publish, because Meta may turn some on by default.
If you run a Mockingbird ad against another concept, give both the same enhancement settings so the test compares the concepts.
