How to make Meta ads with Claude (and other AI assistants)

Claude is very good at the thinking part of Meta ads: finding angles, writing hooks and copy, critiquing a draft and planning a test. On its own it cannot produce the finished thing, an on-brand static image with your real product, at the right size, ready to upload. To get from chat to creative you connect Claude to a tool that renders ads, and then you work by asking.

Set up your brand in Mockingbird

In your Mockingbird account, press Generate connector URL. It identifies you to Claude, so treat it like a password and do not share it.

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, and paste the URL. Claude Code and any other client that supports the Model Context Protocol can use the same link.

Ask for ads in plain language
For example: find me three winning supplement ads with a problem hook and remake the best one in my brand. Claude searches, shows you options and starts the remake you pick.

Claude reports when each ad is done. Open it in Mockingbird to download the 4:5 file, request a revision, or make the next batch.

What Claude does well on its own

Use Claude for the parts of ad-making that are about thinking and language. Ask it to list the objections your customers have and turn each into a hook. Ask it to write ten primary text variations in your voice from a paragraph of your website copy. Paste a draft ad and ask what a sceptical customer would think. Ask it to plan a creative test: which variable, how many variations, what decides the winner. These are fast, cheap and genuinely useful.

Where an assistant stops

An assistant cannot photograph your product, and general image generation will invent a product that is not yours. It does not know which ad structures are actually winning on Meta right now, and it does not output a file at 1080 by 1350 with the hook in the top third and the product rendered exactly. That is the gap a rendering tool fills. The right division of labour is: Claude plans and writes, the tool makes the ad, you judge and test.
